I received 2 cups of homemade applesauce from a friend and wanted to make cookies that used it up, and found this recipe which used most of it. The only changes I made to the recipe was to add more raisins and 2 handfuls of shredded coconut ... came out delicious!
Before making the recipe, I looked over the reviews and even though someone gave it a one star, I decided to try it anyway ... I can't understand anyone wanting to add more flour ... they must like eating bricks. I go for moist food, myself. :-)

I followed the recipe "as is" to make cakes. They were moist, delicious, and popular with participants. I'll see how the batter does as cookies next.

The recipe was a little too wet, but once they are baked they are mini cake-like "cookies."
Kids absolutely loved them and I would definitely make them again.
